ETC training days in the Swissgerman parts of CH
We are becoming very good feedback from several clubs and organizers regarding training days in the swissgerman parts of CH.
We got an offer for Wetzikon (20 min south of Zurich) from the Shadowlords - I think at least Biboun was already there for a tournament. That location could fit up to 20 people I suppose or even 80 but that would mean that we have to rent a hall in the hotel that there club is situated in. We shall speak about details with them asap.
Another offer is for Basel from the Basilisk WH Club. They can offer the aula of a school with place and tables enough for up to 30 players I suppose. Basically that is available every Sunday and from February onwards also every Saturday and bank holiday. There are also quite a few members of the club interested in joining these training days and some should have registered here as well. They would be more than welcome to add what I might have forgotten.
Lastly (for the moment) The Miniaturenmaler based in Zurich have offered their support as well. They have tables and terrain but due to reconstructions? at their site have no room at the moment, but as soon as they get a new place, they will gladly offer it as well.
What might be necessary is a small charge to cover their expenses for the room that we all are using, but I suppose it will not be any substantial amount per player.
So to me it seems that there will be plenty of opportunity in "our" parts of CH to have training days and or tournaments with ETC rules and would like to express my sincerest gratefulness for these generous offers and my heartfelt thanks to each one of you that helps with this project!
By the way - for all these days I can offer up to 3 persons a bed to stay and up to 3 persons more a place to sleep if they are ok with the floor and bringing a matress and sleeping bag themselves.

Re: ETC training days in the Swissgerman parts of CH
Wonderful ! I'm very glad to see that people are so motivated by the event, I think this can only mean that the warhammer community is ready to commit even more than thought of previously ! That's just great
What might be necessary is a small charge to cover their expenses for the room that we all are using, but I suppose it will not be any substantial amount per player.
As long as the rent of a venue implies that money has to be spent by the organizer, I think it's normal there's a due compensation to cover those expenses.
It will be the case in Sion and Villeuneuve as well
Moreover, I think such events may only be beneficial for players from both side of the röstigraben to get to know each other more. So far we have been only a handful to participate to tournaments in both part of Switzerland, so I think the more we can manage to increase that, the better for the community.
Now we should have :
-training day in Villeuneuve the 20th of october (almost sure, needs last confirmation)
-ETC Tournament in Sion the 3-4th of november
-Swiss Open in Sion (date still has to be decided, but it seems it's going to be either the 29-30th of december or in january)
So I think it would be perfect if a venue (I have been to Conquest and Monster Brawl, thus I know that both are great) could host a two days tournament like end of january-beginning of february or something in this area and another like Basel could organize a tournament with ETC rules as well later on.
(of course this is just a broad idea, do not take it as a schedule )
And in between, training days can always be organized at any time.
Just need to open a thread on the forum to see who will be there and give a feedback of the test afterwards.
I confirmed the new swiss german members, warm welcome to them !
Re: ETC training days in the Swissgerman parts of CH
Please bear in mind, that we will have to talk to the organizers what they would rather like to have - tournaments or training days. In my opinion the later would be more beneficial to get in touch, socialize with and to teach interested players.
From my experience - and that is just my personal point of view and everyone is welcome to correct me - the swissgerman playerbase is probably a bit less orientated towards competitiveness. Hence I would probably expect broader interest for training days instead of a tournament (which in addition not necessarily is the best place to teach anything really).

Re: ETC training days in the Swissgerman parts of CH
Some more info:
The rooms in Basel and Wetzikon are potentially available on more than just one occassion. So an option would be to have 1-2 training days and a probable tournament in the end? Again, we ofc would have to respect the wishes of the organizers but would that be an approach that people from the Non-Swissgerman parts would back up?
That will be essential as we will need some players with ETC experience for each of these occassions and due to family reasons and project work in Germany it will be hard for me to attend these anyway.

Re: ETC training days in the Swissgerman parts of CH
We have some dates to discuss now
The Shadowlords in Wetzikon have the following days reserved for us in the Hotel "Drei Linden":
19. 01. 2013 / 20. 01. 2013 ETC WFB Training (max capacity will be given to you asap)
09. 02. 2013 OR 10. 02. 2013 ETC WFB Trainingtournament (capacity will be massive (60+) if need be) date will be set by the torney organisers but the proposed weekend stands as it is.
Now the question would be - shall we have 2 training days in a row (19.+20.01.) or just one of the two days?
If just one day - which one would you prefer?
Please give feedback asap!
Based on these dates, I will now enter into discussions with the Basilisk Club in Basel for further training days.

Re: ETC training days in the Swissgerman parts of CH
That sounds great !
Since Wetzikon is quite near Zürich, I would say let's do a two days training and go out for the evening
I'll certainly be there at both event
Re: ETC training days in the Swissgerman parts of CH
That sounds really great.
I'm not sure if I can do both training days, but one of them should be doable for me.
For the tournament I know that I'll have no time on the 9th, but maybe on the 10th. That's still unsure for me. Nevertheless it's great to hear that we make progress.
So thank you for your efforts, Thomas

Re: ETC training days in the Swissgerman parts of CH
I would rather prefer a two days training event but I fully understand that it is easier for some people to have only one day!
So it doesn't really matter to me

Re: ETC training days in the Swissgerman parts of CH
Update:
The max capacity for the January training day will be around 20 players. We will only have one of the days and likely the Sunday. But up to 4 persons are welcome to stay at my place and come already on Saturday and go for a night out if they want to. There is also a Warhammer table in the basement of our house.
The tourney on February will be on Sunday 10.02.. The Shadowlords will do the necessary stuff on T3 soon. I will help them out as good as I can, so if you got any questions, feel free to ask me.

Was this a missunderstanding or why are now two training days on T3?

Re: ETC training days in the Swissgerman parts of CH
They were not sure at the LBG2, if they would be able to have the manpower to do the Saturday as well. Seems like they found a way, which can only be better for the community and probably giving more players the opportunity to experience this kind of event.
