Trip to Novi Sad

Time is gently running out, and I would like to do the point about the current situation with the trip: concerning the travel, the tickets, the journey, how many days are we planning to stay, and so on...


Do something is already on the table?

My plan was to rent a vehicle to go there, it seems to be the cheapest way to get there (200-300 pp)
The plane prices haven't changed much.

It's 350 dollars to get there (Zurich Belgrad) but knowing we also have to get to Zürich for some people, it might not be so interesting.

But what we still need to know is:

1) Can Stefan come?
2) Can everyone take holiday?

My place was:

- leave on thursday morning (very early)
- Play the 3 days ETC
- stay 2-3 days more
- travel back

The trip will last approx 7 days.

Is everyone ok with that?

I have other information for you guys:

-I booked for 4 nights (9 people) in the dorm the closest to the venue. The place look clean and in ordnung, and we'll pay 15 euros per night (I booked 4 night, 60 euros per person)

-I also booked for 9 people for the friday evening banquet (20 euros per person)

I'll keep you posted for the rest, it's just sometimes hard with internet here (russian dorms are hell haha, I hope serbian one will be better  )

For me its sadly not possible to get more then from thursday to sunday.
So it looks like maybe you have to get a new coach if stefan can come.

I will not be able to stay that long for the ETC, so 4 days is a max for me.
Sadly I have not much holidays left.

So I think I will get back by plane or go there by plane, depending on when you plan to do your trip.

From thursday 8th in the morning
Till around the 14th?


Maybe the idea to go with the car isn't that bad...a much better atmosphere:D  it is going to be 200-300.- fuel inclused? and only with one car?


And, we were speaking of a hotel, aren't we? Much better to only pay 15 pro night, of course, but will the models and all our stuff be safe??

for me It would be better if we could be back something like wednesday afternoon (I have something wednesday late) , I think it fits with the 2-3 days and go back but I don't know if it's okay for everybody or if I have to change my plan a little bit (we could also spend one or two day before if we just rent a car).

Orgas of the tournament are organising this for the teams, So it's safe, and imfo great to meet other players !

Just check who's going by plane so maybe you can take the same one. Just be sure you'll be there on thursday evening and won't miss out any game haha

I checked for alternative version and I found this:

From tuesday to tuesday (so 7 days) for 135.- per person, from Zürich to Novi Sad by bus (Eurolines).

This is clearly the cheapest I can get. And these are the dates closest to the ETC, no other combination is available !
So everyone interested, please let me know as soon as you know (please very quick)

I know some people cannot stay that long, so please if you feel concerned look for a flight with dates that suit you, because I won't be able to check everyone's wishes personally.

If I am right, the following people want to stay for some days in Serbia:

Alan Roncoroni
Xavier Panchard
Paul Berclaz
Victor Rossier

Those people can only come for the ETC itself:

Dimitri Zaganidis
Andy Geiser (if he can even come)

People I don't know much of:

Raphaël Jenelten (I haven't even had the confirmation of his coming)

Some news:

I think, it will be very difficult to spend a few more days in Serbia like we expected (flights are 400-500.-, so unless Dim and Andy agree on this price we'll go on a different way)

I've got a nice offer to rent a minibus.
We could go for approx. 250 francs per person (all inclusive)

The trip would be:

wednesday: I go to take the minivan, we meet and sleep in Sion
tuesday : we leave around 4am and go to Serbia (approx 15 hours driving)
Friday: ETC
Saturday: ETC
Sunday: ETC
Monday: we leave Serbia in the morning (around 5am) and arrive on monday evening


If everyone is fine with that, I will look to book it.

Another solution would be:

We take the bus from tuesday to tuesday.
As the way is really cheap, we can each give like 30.- to Dim and Andy to make it cheaper for them as well.

So I summary, please vote for :

1) Solution 1, everyone by minibus
2) solution 2, max people with bus for 1 week in Serbia, we help out the others with some cash to pay the flight.


I'll check again the forum tomorrow, I hope we can decide then which solution we undertake.

In all cases I don't see how you will travel in Serbia after the ETC without a car, so the bus options seems strange.

Novi sad is only 70km far away from Beograd, you van even use a boat to go there.

I vote for the organized bus.

Organized Bus look also good for me. At least nobody has to drive nor need to be careful about the right direction to take.

I'm waiting for Dim's answer, to know if he takes a flight with Andy or not. Because anyway, the most important is to have 8 players there...

Otherwise, I'll look to book a minivan, I don't mind driving 10-15 hours if someone can drive an hour every now and then. I did it before alone and it was just fine.

Serbia isn't Mongolia steps, you have buses, trains, car rental services... etc.  

I have found very cheap flights for Belgrad from Basel with Wizz air with almost no luggage (Basel-Belgrad 60 euros and Belgrad-Basel 110 euros), (15 euros the hand luggage)
If you can take the armies with the bus we can do take these flights.

We would take the bus on return since it's cheaper.

Is it ok for you?

minibus is perfect for me but how many days would you stay ? Cause if some day is okay I can't stay till tuesday (two day would be perfect to be bach wednesday evening )

I will go to Serbia on Wednesday, and be one day in Belgrad before going to Novi Sad. Everybody who whish to do so can come as well. Others book on thursday and we'll all go to Novi Sad together.
I will not book the flights for you, l can't. So please make sure you have a ticket!

So l can book the bus for everybody on tuesday for the way home?

I have heard that they make their money with the luggage (bagages). You have to pay something even if you take your luggage into the cabin.
So the ones that wanted to go for more time could take the bus in advance with all the armies (it seems it was 6 of you that wanted this).
Unfortunately there is not all the dates available: tuesday, thursday, saturday only.

There is no more flight on wednesday... Only tuesday and thursday evening.

So, finally, we all go with the plane?
