T3 is not for free anymore

Hi everyone,

I do not know if your already have read the announcement, but for tournaments above 18 participants T3 is not for free anymore but you have to pay for a premium account which is 30 € per year.

Given the fact that many organizers only offer a very small number of tourneys per year, my suggestion would be that organizers could put together that ammount and we share the account.

That would likely also mean to have a common e-mailadress for this account.


Opinions on that?

With our club, will certainly buy an premium account "Vouivre the Valère" for our 4-5 tournaments per year. But we are entirely opened to share it with others organizers for free.
40 CHF for one year is not so much.

It is the perfect time in my opinion to come up with a Warhammer Swiss forum, where the tournament annoucement can be made.
We loose the ranking, but for what it means...

I'm very upset by the usual: "come here it's free and convenient" and when they have a monopole, then "give the money!"

On the end it will be a cost which will be covered by players, since organizers will have to adapt their prices to cover the extra cost.

The Other Way. I will just open a new "tourny" after the 18 places are full and shit on the NTR rating.

Well, to be fair, T3 has done a lot for the tournament scene and we all benefitted from their work and their servers etc pp which are usually not for free. That they now want some return on their work and investment, is just normal. If we go to our job, we expect payment as well.
One could argue about the price and the way it is done, but that seems rather useless to me.

I also agree with Francescozey - 40 Francs for the whole of Switzerland if we share the account and its costs seems a rather small sum for what is offered.

The method suggested by ElDorte is funny as well.

And I'm happy that they don't have more.

I really support this step and I have no problem to pay additional 1.- CHF per tournament, since we all profit a lot of this site.

I agree with Buchi on that, T3 brings so much added value to the tournament scene that it deserves more credit.

Really, Matthias gave a lot of his free time and personal money for the project, and apparently the funding was not enough to cover the always growing expenses. I can tell for sure that it isn't the greed that convinced him to go for a paying solution.

40.- isn't a lot compared to all the advantages T3 gave to the community

The question is their policy with different organizers sharing an account. If they let people do that, it can be ok.
I've also seen that it is still possible to announce a tournament for free, you just can't use the editing option of tabletoptournament.net.
