The Team 2013

Hello everyone

Maybe its a bit early for this topic. But i can be important for some players.
The Question is who will be in the team this year.
This thread is not to set the Team by now. But maybe we could make a list of players that are interested or already set.
Maybe also wich armys this player could play on a high standart.

Why am i doing this? For me (and i think also for other players) there comes the time where they have to set the holydays for this year.
And i think some players want to know if they where able to be in the team or is it already set? (who will be in no matter what, who has a high chance and who has also a chance to be there) Maybe this has to be told by the 2 Captains (Xavier and Buchi)
And the thread with the shirts will also need the exact sizes of the players that would come.

What do you think? Is it to early here for a list of players. Or should we start it here.

Hi Christian !

To make it short, the Team for 2013 has not been decided yet (although we now have a clearer idea, we still need to decide the last details) and therefore we won't make any official anouncement before approximately a month or so.
If anyone has issues with his employer concerning the holidays he has to take, he may ask us personnally and we'll indicate in his case his chance to be part of the team. The official answer will nevertheless come after the TPE.

As stated during Divination, the council will be constituted of 3 players (Buchi, Alan and me) representing the 3 linguistic regions of Switzerland and we'll decided together of the most suitable players and coach for the Swiss Team 2013.

On top of that, we also need more information about the definitive AR comp under which the ETC shall be played. Knowing that, we'll be more sure of which armies we would like to see, thereby making the selection of players easier, as we would be able to place each of them behind a specific army we would like to bring along to Serbia.

In conclusion, no it's not early to start the discussion. We have begun quite a while ago, and observed the players we wanted to see in action.
We have an idea in mind, but a bit more patience is needed to definitely know who's gonna be part of the team for 2013.

Basically, Xavier already said the main things.

I would just like to add, that we assume that anyone who is active in this forum and at the trainingdays/ETC tournaments is automatically considered to be at least potentially interested in being part of the team.

What furthermore could be of interest to us, would be an indication, if someone who is not chosen as a player, would eventually be interested in the position of non playing coach. It would probably be best, if interested people would just use this very thread to say so.

Sometimes it's not easy to see the real level of a player outside of a tournament. In a friendly game there is no pressure, there is not a team behind, ...
That's why we'll also look to the what will happen during the TpE (total points as defender/scorer, if you'll be able to change your style if your team is loosing/winning, ...).
Said that I don't mean that training days are useless (thanks to them actually I had the opportunity to meet other people, test some matchup, ...), I'm just saying that playing well during them doesn't mean that you'll be scoring 120 points at the ETC

Well I'm very interessted in the ETC Team and would also like to play with them, but sadly I have other plans for this summer and also my skills need to get better (I'll try my best, so that you might count me in for 2014-2015 xD)^^.

So for me it just would be cool, if you ppl could keep the "non-players" uptodate hows it going on with the team-building (like a list of ppl, which would be possible), what are your thoughts about the teammembers (why have you choosen this ppl?), your thoughts about the choosen armys and so on. Just keep in touch with the community =) I'm realy envious about the Germans and the hipe they have =/

So basically, keep the good work up, which you started this year for us, the "not-yet-players"!^^

I promise to keep the swissgerman community posted on what is going on and what is being decided.

About the list of possible players - well basically everyone can apply. Our criteria for selection comprise skill, effort, activity (training days, tournaments, forum) and other (like language skills, community work etc). We will also try to account for having players from each Swiss region in the team if possible.
The final decission is made as mentioned above.

I can only support what Buchi said.

I would add that the best way prove yourself to the comitee is to prove your value in competition. Just come to big tournaments when the good players are playing as well, impress us with good ranking/tactic skills and you might join the circle

It's an advice to give to all aspiring players, just make yourself stand out.
There might be a top player somewhere in Switzerland, only playing with his friends and never going to tournaments... well for him, even in the case he were be better than all of us, we would not select him only because we wouldn't be aware of his talent
