I am ok with the proposed list, even though I feel that it lacks the means of getting at units that have been reduced by magic and shooting.
There is only the abom that has any punch in close combat. At the moment I am thinking about taking 2 Gutter runners out and fill up 2 Clanrat units to 29...

in my opinion your army doesn't have to win the match on combat.

you do as much as damages as you can by shooting and after you just need to stay locked in combat. Normally you have more units of the other and this can help you to have more bonus to combat resolution.


Onestly I don't understand why you need vermins Very Happy

If you are not sure without them we can change the list but imho they are not necessary




you can use runners units of 7 and put more clans no prob for me (maybe it also better)







as i said this is a base, try things and after we can discuss how to modify the army list. We have time until 14 of july

The army obviously does not win by close combat, but that is nearly the only way to really get big points nowadays. So I obviously would like to have something a bit more stable to mob up the remains of any enemytroops. Or put in another way - it is often easy with Skaven to achieve something around an 12:8 but it gets really hard with that kind of list to score really high against good opponents.

The Vermin are there as cheap and expendable redirectors. Especially against fast and hardhitting troops - Grailknights or larger units of Slaaneshfiends for example - or against frenzied troops they will come in very handy as they secure more magic/shooting phases on the enemy and enable me to position my oponnent more to my liking.

Furthermore, to my experience in a skavenarmy nothing is ever secure. Laughing
If something is going really bad - general has killed himself for example - they may just save some valuable points by buying me some rounds where I can throw them at the enemy.

I have opted for the safer variant of the earthing rod with the non-general seer instead of the condensor (even though I am sure I will miss him Smile ) but that lets me get one spell through at least per round (probably 2 with warpstones) without to much worries on the miscasts.

I also got rid of one Clanrat unit with Ratling guns and opted to make the Gutter runners really large and give them slings. 52 poisened shoots should do quite nicely and will be something that can harrass the enemy this much, that he has to opt on eliminating them quickly, which gives my Abom more room to do his thing.

I would switch dispell and earthing rod (better to have the reroll to the general imho)

2x13 gutters aren't too much?




but i like this one, even if you have just 2 clan units...

I see your reasoning for making the general secure, but I gave the the rod intentionaly to the other wizard, as he will be the one, that should have the spells, that I will cast the most (13th + destruction spells) so I opted for him. On the other hand if I give it to the general I could go for 2 x 13th...
What would you have me do?

About the 2 x 13 runners - it is large unit, but also approximately 6 poison hits each round. That way I should even get dwarf warmachines with some margin of security. Also against lightly armoured troops they are a real pain and cannot be ignored while it is not so easy to get them. I would like to give them a try, but if the team feels its too much I'll switch back. Wink
